Imprisoning an innocent person is a crime of kidnapping.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>Social<\/strong>: ranging from rejection, contempt and discrimination to <strong>verbal, emotional and physical aggression, and even murder.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This forces members of this community to flee their countries. You lust after men instead of women! You are certainly transgressors.\u201d But his people\u2019s only response was to say, \u201cExpel them from your land! They are a people who wish to remain chaste!\u201d So We saved him and his family except his wife, who was one of the doomed. We <strong>poured upon them a rain of brimstone<\/strong>. See what was the end of the wicked!&#8221;<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Verses 26:165-173 and 27:54-58 say the same with some different wording. Although these passages are usually interpreted as Allah punishing Sodom and Gomorrah for their homosexual acts, it is not clear if it was for that or because they expelled Lot.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, it is more obvious that the destruction of those cities was due to their homosexual practices in verse 29:28-31:<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;And (remember) when Lot rebuked his people: \u201cYou certainly commit a <strong>shameful deed<\/strong> that no man has ever done before you. Do you really <strong>lust after men<\/strong>, abuse the travellers, and practice immorality openly in your gatherings?\u201d His people\u2019s only response was to say: \u201cBring Allah\u2019s punishment upon us, if what you say is true.\u201d Lot prayed, \u201cMy Lord! Help me against the people of corruption.\u201d When Our messenger-angels came to Abraham with the good news, they said, \u201c<strong>We are going to destroy the people of this city, for its people have persisted in wrongdoing<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The text of Quran 24:2 is also crystal clear, speaking of zina, that is, sex outside of marriage in general:<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;<strong>As for female and male fornicators, give each of them one hundred lashes, and do not let pity for them make you lenient<\/strong> in enforcing the law of Allah&#8221;.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/institutodelbienestar.com\/en\/live-without-harming\/publications\/avoid-harm-in-islam-suppression-of-sexual-freedom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">AVOID HARM IN ISLAM! Aggression against those who exercise their sexual freedom<\/span><\/em><\/a><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><strong>HADITH<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These books are biographies of Muhammad that supposedly recount what he did and said, constituting the second great pillar of Islam after the Quran. The following are noteworthy:<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sunan Abu Dawud 38:4447:<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If you find anyone doing as Lot&#8217;s people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done&#8221;.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sunan Abu Dawud 38:4448<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIf a man who is not married is seized committing sodomy, <strong>he shall be stoned to death<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sahih Bukhari 7:72:774:<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The Prophet cursed <strong>effeminate<\/strong> men (those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners of women) and those <strong>women who assume the manners of men<\/strong>, and he said, &#8220;<strong>Turn them out of your houses<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And very similar to the previous one is Sahih Bukhari 8:82:820<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\"><strong><br \/>TRADITIONAL SCHOOLS<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Madhhab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Madhab&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718205772576000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0pbLRSUgxSLsJYwjeSA7FU\">legal schools<\/a><\/span><\/span> have treated homosexual relations involving penetration similarly to illegal heterosexual relations under the rubric of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zina_(film)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zina&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1718205772576000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1jvlNtOYTPjWGj6zzYjL1r\">zina<\/a><\/span><\/span>, but with differences of opinion regarding the modes of punishment. All these <span style=\"background-color: var(--base-2); color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-size: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-size ); font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight );\">efforts seek to harmonize the Islamic faith with modern principles of human rights and justice.<\/span><\/p><p>There is a growing mobilization by liberal Muslims to defend LGTBI rights. Organizations such as Muslims for Progressive Values and individual activists are working to challenge traditional interpretations and advocate for greater acceptance and protection of LGTBI people within the Muslim community.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, more and more Muslims are opting for a more tolerant and benign version of their religion.
