LET US LIVE WITHOUT CAUSING HARM!: INCLUDING IMMIGRATION THAT COMES TO CAUSE ECONOMIC HARM

A high level of immigration oriented toward obtaining public benefits can end up seriously damaging the economy and causing social degradation, partially and gradually displacing the population that has a culture of work, education, progress, saving, and using those savings in profitable investments.

Rich, well-functioning countries usually are so because there is a sufficient proportion of productive, civic residents who are net taxpayers, regardless of their race and origin. If that proportion declines, society’s functioning will likely worsen as well.

DO NOT STEAL!: Let us generate wealth honestly

In a few decades, this can lead to a significant demographic shift and a change in the sociological profile, reducing the percentage of society with a First World mindset (1), oriented toward creating wealth, well-being, and functionality, with a medium- and long-term outlook, and increasing the percentage with a Third World and short-term mindset, which not only is unwilling to sacrifice part of its present to have a better future, but a large part of that social segment votes for politicians who secure them privileges at the expense of the first group.

(1) Clarification: one can come from the Third World and have a First World mindset, and vice versa.

The parties that draw support from the votes of the second group—the less industrious “smart alecks”—create an increasingly widespread clientelist system of favors in exchange for votes that can reach a point of no return. They also change the First World economic model toward one based more on spending and waste than on investment, and more on living on subsidies than on generating wealth. All of this can result in economic stagnation or even decline, in addition to other social problems.

Over time, those who pull the load with a sense of responsibility may become a minority compared with the freeloaders who lie comfortably on that load while watching with satisfaction as the former push it along in exhaustion. In fact, in some countries those who produce in the private sector represent an increasingly smaller minority of the total population.

Therefore, there is a risk that the “little ants” who generate wealth through hard work will matter less and less, while the “ticks” who want to live off others’ effort end up controlling political power and imposing an increasingly abusive system with ever more unjust laws.

Freeloaders and the politicians who represent them gradually and almost imperceptibly (like moths that gnaw away at wood without it being noticed from the outside until the beam finally collapses) create an increasingly upside-down world that penalizes effort, merit, and excellence and rewards abuse, trickery, and mediocrity. A pantagruelian world, as in France, where one can earn more living off social assistance than from honest work, or, as in Spain, where the authorities protect squatters who occupy and steal homes while, in multiple ways, mistreating the owners who acquired them honestly. All of this would have been unthinkable years ago, when the population was more homogeneous in its economic mindset.

LET US NOT STEAL!: Neither directly nor indirectly

LET US NOT STEAL!: Let us fight against squatting

In the end, the ticks may end up oppressing the “little ants,” both native and imported, once they are no longer the majority. Let us prevent that tyranny before it is too late to undo the vicious circle that is becoming increasingly difficult to escape. Because political parties that live off a parasitic clientele promote that type of immigration to perpetuate themselves in power and continue enjoying their privileges. For example, in Catalonia they launched an experimental program consisting of paying salaries of more than 800 euros for doing nothing, plus 300 euros for each minor dependent, and they chose Morocco as the place to present the initiative, with the tacit message of:

“-Come to my region and vote for my party in exchange for offering you a privileged, comfortable life without having to work, thanks to the many benefits I will give you. I will be your Santa Claus, with a sack full of gifts that will sweeten your life, and I will gladly keep giving them to you if you come here and keep me in power.”

LET US NOT STEAL!: Let us rebel against slavery, including hidden slavery

A healthy country is a fair place, where the individual has a win-win, mutually beneficial relationship with the rest of society. Where give-and-take is encouraged, so that immigrants come to receive from the host territory but also to give, to be respected but at the same time to respect, to exercise their rights but also their duties and responsibilities. When that does not happen, the balance is broken and a social rift opens up.

Anyone who has spent years living on benefits and cannot prove that they worked for most of that time, or that they have a disability that prevented it, is abusing society, and therefore it is fair to expel them, as in Sweden.

It is also advisable to select immigration carefully.

To improve rather than worsen, let us integrate those who are not integrated, try to avoid harmful immigration, and expel those who harm others. A fair, functional country responds firmly to abuses.

LET US AVOID HARM!: Let us open ourselves to harmless immigration and close ourselves to harmful immigration

LET US PREVENT HARM!: Including immigration that comes to cause social harm
