PREVENT HARM!: LET'S NOT IGNORE THE CURRENT ULTRA-LEFTIST THREAT

Traditional communism has been disastrous for all countries where it has been implemented, causing enormous damage, both human (genocides with over one hundred million murdered, large-scale deportations, forced labor camps with tens of millions of victims, torture, terror, etc.), and economic… read more at…

As a consequence of all this, most of the population in communist countries has turned its back on those failed totalitarian regimes, most of which disappeared after the fall of the Berlin Wall and were replaced by liberal or illiberal capitalist democracies, or by partially capitalist regimes.

Faced with the widespread failure of communism, its politicians have had to reinvent themselves and adapt like chameleons to the new environment. As a result, reformist proposals have emerged that attempt to reconcile this ideology to varying degrees with democracy and a certain level of capitalism, such as Eurocommunism (which does not renounce revolution, but tactically opts for the parliamentary path given what they consider an enormous difficulty for communist revolution in capitalist countries), 21st-century socialism, or Bolivarianism, which could be considered part of the former, as both Chávez and Maduro have championed 21st-century socialism.

Of all these proposals, the one that has truly been put into practice, and for decades, is Bolivarianism in Venezuela, with disastrous results:

  • Economically, the country has lost 75% of its GDP!
  • Politically, it has gone from being one of the few full democracies in the world to an authoritarian regime that commits human rights violations.

LET’S AVOID HARM!: Let’s be aware of the harms of Chavism so they don’t spread to other countries

This Chavismo has a significant influence on the far-left in other countries, such as Spain, where prominent leaders of Podemos and similar parties, like Pablo Iglesias, Juan Carlos Monedero, and Íñigo Errejón, have worked as advisors for this regime both in Spain and Venezuela. Likewise, they have received substantial amounts from it and/or have promoted this despotic regime. Furthermore, it appears that leaders from various far-left formations, such as Podemos, En Comú Podem, and CUP, are traveling to Venezuela to receive training from the regime.

A much more successful type of Latin American socialism has been that of Evo Morales in Bolivia, as it has been oriented towards wealth generation, in contrast to Bolivarianism, which has destroyed it. In the initial phase of his mandate, this president dedicated public resources to the development of the mining sector, which led to a considerable increase in his country’s per capita income. However, his interventionism in the industrial sector has not fared as well, as this sector tends to be much more efficient, competitive, and productive when in private hands than in public ones.

Let’s take a closer look at these new 2.0 versions of Marxism in the old continent. Despite the resounding failures of all communist and similar systems without exception, there are still many communists, and probably always will be. However, they have been forced to adapt to the electorate of each country. Thus, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (the second most voted after Putin’s party and heir to the former Communist Party of the USSR) has been forced to conform to the current conservative illiberal democracy that exists in that country.

Similarly, to survive, the former single communist party of East Germany had to undergo a cosmetic surgery operation with its new brand Die Linke, and it also had no choice but to make itself attractive to a much more modern and liberal type of German electorate than the Russian one. Thus, if in Russia communists are against LGTBI rights, in Germany they are in favor of them, women’s rights, ecology, etc. Adapt or die, always keeping in mind that votes are votes.

But at the same time, they consider themselves heirs of Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht, who tried to destroy the liberal democracy that existed in the Weimar Republic (also governed by social democrats) through a violent revolution (despite having only 2% social support) that would introduce a dictatorship similar to the Bolshevik one in Russia. This raises doubts as to whether the modern hairstyle they have adopted is real or merely a wig concealing their baldness.

Something similar has happened in Spain, where the Communist Party of Spain began using the new brand Izquierda Unida and then joined other more successful brands such as Unidas Podemos or Sumar. To be fair, it must be said that the latter two are not strictly communist, but federations of a multitude of parties ranging from the far left to the left. From a political standpoint, they have done quite well, as they have propelled several government vice-presidents and ministers who self-identify as communists, such as Pablo Iglesias, Yolanda Díaz, and Alberto Garzón, into power.

The new formations inheriting from old communism in different countries are a non-uniform amalgam of currents and militants ranging from those who favor the harshest Stalinism to much milder socialists or social democrats, passing through intermediate categories such as Marxist-Leninists, Trotskyists, or sympathizers of Bolivarianism and 21st-Century Socialism. There are those who are against human and animal rights, and those who are committed to them; from authoritarian individuals to profoundly democratic ones.

This diversity, which includes very respectable, decent, and well-intentioned social democrats, is reassuring. However, it is important to consider the whole picture and not overlook what their scientifically proven and guaranteed (harmful) effective two-for-one offer usually consists of:

1. More economic and social damage.

2. At least 7 injustices: plundering, equalizing only what suits them, creating a new parasitic privileged class, encouraging the immigration of freeloaders/parasites to vote for them, attacking individual liberty, antisemitism, and alliance with totalitarian Islamism.

This is a star offer that some may be tempted to accept, but they must bear in mind that if they are not satisfied, they will not get their money back, as there will likely be none left in the public coffers, which will have been emptied after ruining the country.

If you don’t like the previous package, warn others not to buy it.
