The Bible is composed of many different books written by different authors at very diverse historical moments, sometimes separated from each other by centuries. Experts even say that there are some books, such as Genesis, that were written by several individuals. These were children of their time, being greatly influenced by the typical mentality of those abusive and cruel societies.
Therefore, it is not surprising that they have written texts that promote the violation of human rights, as in those times it was the norm.

Some examples of verses loaded with the typical cruelty of those historical periods are those that:
Although the above constitutes an extensive (but not exhaustive) collection of a wide variety of crimes, human rights violations, and injustices, there are many more harmful verses that need to be explicitly disapproved of by Christian churches that wish to reform themselves to have a cruelty-free doctrine.
To this end, it is necessary to consider those verses not as the word of God, but as what they are: a set of books written by different authors in different eras, often influenced by the mentality existing in each past time. In fact, different books of the Bible have inconsistencies between them (such as, for example, in the treatment that should be given to adulteresses), this being proof that not all verses are divine revelations.
Therefore, instead of following them blindly and causing harm to innocents, let us reinterpret them in their historical context and then renounce their authority. In fact, a good part of the branches of Judaism have already carried out this reform, so we have a good precedent to follow.
