LET'S BUILD A BETTER WORLD!: LET'S REFORM SOCIETY!

Let’s Make 2025 a Year of Change and Hope!

The year 2025 is about to begin, and with it, a new opportunity to build a more just and happier world. But for this dream to come true, it’s not enough to wait: we need to act, reflect, and commit to the reforms our society needs.

Although we have advanced greatly as humanity, we still face significant challenges. It is in our hands to strengthen what is good and work together to transform what is not working.

A better world is not a dream; it’s a choice. You have the power to make a difference in 2025.

Why Do We Need Change?

Because human societies often have a healthy part and a sick part, which Shakespeare summarized this way in “King Lear”: “When we are born, we cry that we are come to this great stage of fools.”

Within the nourishing part are good vibes, affection, good feelings, a sense of justice, help, what works well, and other positive aspects of the people and social, economic, and political structures that surround us.

And on the toxic side (sometimes very toxic) are crimes, abuses, harmful selfishness, envy, corruption, dishonesty, mediocrity, dysfunctions, and other human and social miseries. All of this makes the vast majority of societies like an apple that is partly healthy and partly rotten.

We are all part of this semi-garden/semi-dump. We have all contributed to creating it, and we are all both beneficiaries and victims of it. Therefore, it is everyone’s convenience and responsibility to clean it up. Instead of being positive about it, let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work to remove all the possible filth once and for all.

LET’S LIVE WITHOUT HARMING! Let’s not be positive about injustice.

Thanks to the efforts of previous generations, from the Enlightenment to today, we have made great strides in reforming our society. However, although we have overcome many of the limitations of eras like the Middle Ages, we are still far from reaching our full potential to build a truly civilized world. Now it is our turn to continue this process and take the next step.

LET US BUILD A BETTER WORLD!: Let us continue the civilising process

Instead of conforming, let’s be agents of change, bold and oriented towards excellence. The rules of the game can be transformed if we work together. There is much to improve, both from above (legislation and policies) and from below (society):

LET’S BUILD A BETTER WORLD!: Let’s Strive for Excellence

1.- LEGISLATION AND POLICIES

There are just laws and unjust ones. Identifying and reforming the latter is essential for moving towards a better future. Let’s preserve what works and move forward with the necessary changes to improve… read more…

We have already gained much ground, as in the last 3 centuries, many abusive laws have been abolished, such as those that protected slavery. According to these laws, slaves were mere things, had to obey their masters, and endure the harm caused by them, including torture. If they escaped, no one could help them or offer shelter. Thanks to the bravery of abolitionists, these laws were eliminated, marking a milestone in the history of justice. This is just one example of the many progresses we have achieved, demonstrating that change is possible when we work together.

Let’s continue to advance firmly and swiftly in terms of norms and policies, worldwide. Sign one petition every fortnight of the new year:

Fundamental Rights

  • Children: respect their rights.

Justice and Legal Reform

Education

  • Schools: ensure that in them:

(i) The ethics of kindness are instilled. I’M SIGNING THIS TOO!

(ii) Emotional education, on well-being and health, is provided. OF COURSE!

(iii) Proven guidelines on how to progress economically are taught. ABSOLUTELY!

Freedoms and Democracy

  • Religions: promote a benign version of them. SAME HERE!

Well-being

Others

  • Abuses in general: prevent them and promote respect and honesty through awareness campaigns.

2.- SOCIETY

A. Mindset and Behaviors

To transform the world into a more just place, it is not enough to reform legal and political structures; we also need a profound change in our way of thinking and acting as individuals. This implies evolving from abusive behaviors to others based on justice, from harmful selfishness to a considerate attitude, and from an opportunistic mindset to one founded on honesty. justice, from harmful selfishness to a considerate attitude, and from an opportunistic mindset to one grounded in honesty.

Let’s change the modus operandi and pensandi oriented towards harming others in certain cases and/or specific groups to one based on kindness.

To do so, it is necessary to convey these reformist messages, educate, share, and raise awareness. The major social changes of the past began with simple ideas that spread from person to person, like dominoes falling one after another—until there was a sufficiently large, convinced critical mass for social transformation to take place. LET US PREVENT HARM!: Let us share and persuade so that they do not cause harm

B. Education

Given that we are born with an abusive part, to effectively counteract it, it is necessary to educate children and adolescents in the ethics of kindness, from the cradle to adulthood, in the family and at school. It is essential to convey to them, INTENSELY, the values of respect, justice, honesty, tolerance, diversity, freedom, honest wealth generation, etc. Read more at…

LIVE WITHOUT HARMING: Let’s Educate Children in the Ethics of Kindness

C. Religions

Some conservative interpretations, and especially fundamentalist ones, of certain faiths have caused and continue to cause much suffering to a large number of victims. Therefore, to achieve a more just and happy world to live in, it is essential that benign and tolerant versions of these faiths prevail. This is especially crucial in the three major creeds that account for more than 70% of the world’s population:

1. Christianity. Sign…

2. Islam. Sign…

3. Hinduism. Sign…

D. Orientation towards Happiness

A more ambitious step is to build a happiness-oriented society, in two ways:

1. Introducing the modus pensandi and operandi that leads to it based on scientifically proven evidence… read more…

2. Carrying out the necessary research and investments, both privately and publicly, to reduce all types of suffering to a minimum… read more.

Let’s be positive! Because if great advances were possible in the past, they will also be possible in the future.

LET’S BUILD A BETTER WORLD!: Let’s Be Optimistic That We Can Achieve It

The Importance of Dreaming Together

Imagine a world where we all live with mutual respect and much higher levels of happiness. This dream is not utopian; it is achievable if we work together. As Ronald Reagan said:

“Ideas usually have three stages of reaction: First, ‘It’s crazy and don’t waste my time.’ Second, ‘It’s possible, but not worth doing.’ And finally, ‘I’ve always said it. It was a good idea.’”

Let’s think outside the box! Having a slightly more lateral thinking style allows us to see that not everything has to remain as we have always seen it.

Let’s Make 2025 a Memorable Year

Of the previous initiatives, which ones will you add to your list of good resolutions for the new year? And what will you do to make them a reality? The world needs your voice, your hands, and your heart.

Thank you for signing and sharing.

I wish you a happy end of the year, rich in constructive reflections that translate into productive actions contributing to a better 2025 for all.

Happy 2025! May it be a year full of hope and action.
