Some may think that humans cannot be compared to animals, but in reality, hens (just like pigs, cows, etc.) are similar to young children. According to scientific research, they have an intelligence similar to that of four-year-old children.
And they have a range of emotions and sensations like those of humans: they feel physical pain just as we do, as well as fear, stress, sadness, joy, desire, frustration, love, anger, aggression, loneliness, etc.
The degree to which they feel all of this is similar to ours, in the same way that a child feels as much pain as an adult even if they cannot yet do what an engineer or an architect does.
Abuse and cruelty toward hens is a phenomenon on a “super-mega-large” scale: 7 BILLION with a B are slaughtered every year, 70 billion in 10 years, and 210 billion in 30 years. It is, therefore, a population much larger than the human population of only 8 billion.
